BUILD UP is the “European portal for energy efficiency in buildings”. A governmental organization, BUILD UP was developed by the European Commission in 2009, with the aim of supporting member states in implementing the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. As a web portal, BUILD UP provides homeowners and inhabitants with informational resources on topics such as renewable energy sources, nearly-zero energy buildings, solar shading, energy performance verification, and more. Despite providing information to all who are interested, BUILD UP targets professionals in the building sector as well as members of the public and/or private community interested in the technical aspects of energy efficiency, policy making, and financial issues of energy saving practices.
