The Centre de Renovation Urbaine (CRU) was created to provide public authorities and local individuals with knowledge about renovation and development in the Anderlecht districts, particularly Cureghem. The CRU aims to renovate old neighborhoods so that the people who live there may remain. Also, it aims to develop the production of social housing. A member of Réseau Habitat, the CRU provides renovation consulting, energy consulting, and eco-construction support. It also supports individuals who hope to apply for “planning permission from both public and private stakeholders”. The CRU’s efforts culminate with their mission to share knowledge and leverage the public’s social purpose.

Key initiatives

The CRU provides tenants, owners, and those looking to purchase buildings with renovation consulting, energy consulting, and support for eco-construction. The CRU consulting team is composed of three architects who will support you with professional advice regarding home renovation, conversion, and maintenance. Services include technical home visits, analysis of business quotes, tips for saving energy and more. The CRU works within the context of the contrats de quartiers durables, or sustainable neighborhood contracts, to complete specific renovation projects. The consulting services at the CRU have received subsidies from Bruxelles Environnement to strengthen the team’s knowledge of rational energy use, and Banque Triodos has also financially supported the organization’s renovation efforts. See more.
