Participating cities

The PARENT project is active in three European cities: Amsterdam, Bergen and Brussels (Forest/Vorst and Watermael-Boitsfort/Watermaal-Bosvoorde). Our project partners in each city will host an experiment to engage local communities in the reduction of their household energy consumption.
In Amsterdam, Resourcefully and the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at the University of Utrecht primarily focus on households with solar production facilities, helping these households in their journey towards energy independence.
In Bergen, the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities at the University of Bergen work closely with the municipality and energy provider, in order to assist and build on existing networks and initiatives.
In Brussels, Blue Planet and the Institute for European Studies and Research Group on Law, Science, Technology & Society at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel collaborate closely with the communes of Watermael-Boitsfort/Watermaal-Bosvoorde and Forest/Vorst, raising awareness and empowering individuals to make concrete steps towards reducing the energy consumption in their communities.
